The Branson Coaster – Illuminated by our stunning lights on a Summer night.

Welcome to the Branson Coaster, the first and only double alpine mountain coaster in North America! The Branson Mountain Coaster offers a unique and thrilling experience like no other.  Located on 15 acres of wooded mountainside, this thrilling ride takes visitors on an exciting journey through the trees at speeds of up to 30mph (56km/h for our European friends). With 360-degree loops and twists, two cable-pulled ascents, and two downhill sections, the experience is sure to get your heart racing. Built in 2017 on the former site of a water park, The Branson Coaster took nine months to construct and features a first-of-its-kind double Alpine loop. This means that the coaster goes down once, goes back up another incline, then goes down another course. This Mountain Coaster is a must-see for any family visiting Branson for the first time.

First things first – What are Mountain Coasters?

If you’re looking for a textbook definition it would be this – “Mountain coasters are an amazing activity that the whole family can enjoy!” These thrilling rides are equipped with a manual brake which allows riders to adjust the speed of their descent, providing riders with greater control of their experience, unlike a roller-coaster where riders have no control. Furthermore, no prior experience or training is necessary to enjoy a mountain coaster.

The age and height restrictions for mountain coasters have been detailed for the safety of all riders. Additionally, some mountain coasters come with two seats which enables adults to enjoy the experience with their younger children. Wiegand Sports GmbH, the inventor of the alpine coaster, is the leading manufacturer with over 270 installations around the world. This ensures that riders know they are in good hands.

Mountain coasters provide an exciting experience that can be enjoyed by all ages. These coasters provide a unique feature that allows riders to manually control the speed of their descent. This enables riders to customize their experience depending on how daring they are feeling.

No prior experience is necessary to enjoy a mountain coaster. With age and height restrictions in place, riders can feel secure in knowing that all riders will be safe. Wiegand Sports GmbH has over 270 installations around the world, making them the leading manufacturer and inventor of the alpine coaster.

Branson Mountain Coaster – What to expect

The Branson Coaster is a unique experience due to its several parts. After leaving the loading station, riders start their first downhill section which lasts about 1 minute. Then they are pulled up the mountain via a cable system, a chance to enjoy the scenery and watch fellow riders on their mountain coaster journey. This uphill section takes 2 minutes to complete.

After the cable system, gravity takes over and riders start their second downhill section which lasts 1:50. Following this, they are then pulled back up to the loading station via another cable-pull ascent, taking 2:30. Mountain coasters typically consist of one downhill section, however the Branson Coaster has many downhill and uphill sections throughout the ride.

This ride is unique in that it offers a different experience compared to other mountain coasters. Even experienced riders will find this to be an enjoyable and different experience. To give a better idea of the ride, videos have been included in the post below.

Here are several highlight videos of the Branson coaster, including a first-person tour by Coaster Addict as well as an overview from the Family Fun Pack, a very popular family entertainment channel.
